Again, that’s my advice through my experience with amps. But the biggest reason I haven’t done so is because I have Blues and not something more powerful like Celestion Golds. I have wanted to build a JTM45 for a long time. But I had to buy a new speaker because my Blues can’t handle big power. I have no reason to own one, I just wanted one, so I built it. Some people’s argument against this is, “why would you need more than 30 watts?” And “but the Blue is the best sounding speaker!” And “apparently Blues can handle double what they’re rated for!” Those points are fine and dandy, and I don’t have great rebuttals to those arguments, but I know plenty of companies make and sell 50-100 watt amps and plenty of people buy them, and sometimes it’s nice to have good speakers to put in them. Or if your AC30 shits itself, you still have speakers you can move to a more powerful unit. My big reason for this is if you ever get a new amp, especially something with more power than 30 watts, you can sell the AC30 and keep the speakers. I’ve been blasted on forums for suggesting this, I would strongly consider getting something with a higher power rating than a Celestion Blue. It’s a tall order, but it sound’s significantly better.
